When a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer launches a product, you could do the standard thing: a press release, a tasting event, a bottle on a table. But what happens if you put said Rock & Roll Hall of Famer back in the studio where he recorded some of the biggest records in rock history, for the first time in 40 years, and let the story do the work for you? That's what we did with Three Chord Bourbon's Volume 2 launch.

When the Founder Is the Story, Use It


A lot of spirit brands attach a famous name and call it marketing. Three Chord is different because Neil built the brand from his own creative process. The name comes from the idea that three chords can change the world. The bourbon reflects his ear for balance and detail. That meant the activation couldn't be a standard launch party. It had to put Neil's story at the center and let guests experience the connection between the music and the spirit firsthand.



Two Cities, Two Venues, One Thread


In New York, we held the event at Power Station at BerkleeNYC, the legendary studio where Neil hadn't set foot in over 40 years. That return was a moment in itself. In LA, the activation moved through Sunset Marquis, Morrison Hotel Gallery, and Bar 1200, venues with deep roots in rock history and creative culture. Each location had its own personality, but the thread was consistent: live performance, music and storytelling as a foundation for expertly crafted bourbon. Fans, industry peers, and collaborators filled both rooms to max capacity both nights.


Capture for What Comes Next


Both events were fully captured with photo, video, and content built for post-event distribution. The activations generated strong organic engagement across platforms and built momentum for what's ahead. For a brand at Three Chord's stage, that content library is as valuable as the events themselves. The nights ended. The story keeps moving.



The Takeaway for Brands
